How much does a rebrand cost?

No fake number. Here is what moves the price, and how to not get burned.

I am not going to throw out a number, because anyone who quotes you a flat price for "a rebrand" without asking questions is guessing. What I can do is show you what actually moves the price, so you can walk into any conversation and know if the quote makes sense.

First, what do you mean by rebrand?

People use the word for three very different jobs, and they do not cost the same.

  • A new logo. The mark and a few color and font choices. The smallest job.
  • A full brand identity. Logo, colors, typography, voice, and the rules for using them, so everything looks like it came from one company.
  • A full rebrand. The identity, plus the website, social, packaging, ads and email all brought over to the new look. The biggest job, because the rollout is where the work piles up.

Most people ask for the first and need the second. Figure out which one you are really buying before you compare quotes.

What drives the price up or down

  • Scope. More pieces means more hours. A logo is one deliverable. An identity system plus a Shopify site is dozens.
  • Who does it. A freelancer, a small studio and a full agency price differently. You are paying for experience and for how many specialties are in the room.
  • Whether the website is included. A brand that lives only in a PDF is not finished. If the site gets rebuilt, that is its own project.
  • How much thinking comes first. Good rebrands start with strategy: who you sell to, why you are different, where you are going. Skipping that is cheaper and shows up later.
  • Your timeline. Rush jobs cost more.
  • How many rounds of changes. Clear feedback keeps it tight. Ten opinions from ten people does not.

Is it worth it?

A rebrand pays off when the old brand is holding you back, not when you are just bored of it. If you are charging more than your brand looks like you charge, losing deals to competitors who simply look more established, or you have outgrown who you were when you started, it is usually worth it. If sales are slow because of your offer or your ads, a new logo will not fix that. Fix the real problem first.

How to not overpay

  1. Ask for the scope in writing. What exactly do you get, how many concepts, how many revisions, which files.
  2. Ask what is not included. The website, the rollout and the brand guide are the usual surprises.
  3. Look at past work, not just the portfolio. Ask what happened for the client afterward.
  4. Be wary of the cheapest quote. Redoing a rebrand costs more than doing it right once.
  5. Be wary of vague quotes. If nobody asked you about your business, they are quoting a template.

What I would do in your shoes

Write down what you want your brand to do for you in the next year. Not "look better." Something real, like attract higher-paying clients or launch a new product line. Then bring that to two or three people and see who asks smart questions before they send a number. At Riches & Saint, creativity meets conversion, which means we care whether the new brand actually sells, not just whether it is pretty.

If you want to talk through yours, the first call is free and takes 10 minutes. We will tell you honestly if you need a rebrand, or something cheaper.

Quick answers

How long does a rebrand take?

A logo can take a few weeks. A full identity and website usually takes longer, because strategy, design and the build happen in order. Rushing it is possible but costs more.

Do I need a new website with a rebrand?

In most cases yes. If the website keeps the old look, customers see two brands. Some people phase it in, but the site should follow quickly.

Can I rebrand without changing my business name?

Yes. Many rebrands keep the name and change the logo, colors, voice and website. A name change is a bigger decision with legal and search effects.
